The Chef and I decided yesterday that our favorite time to cook is fall. We love the recipes, the cool air outside with warm baking inside. And with our trip to the orchard, we started the season out with the perfect applicious recipe!
I used Jonathon apples for this recipe, but you could use any tart or semi-tart apple.
I peeled, cored, and cut 10 apples and combined in a bowl with 2/3 C brown sugar, 1/3 C sugar, 2 Tbs. flour, 1 Tbs. cinnamon, and 1/4 Tbs. nutmeg.
In a separate bowl I combined 1 C oats, 1/3 C flour, and 1 Tbs. baking powder along with 1/2 C butter cubed. I mixed until it was crumbly and then topped over the apples. Baked at 375 degrees for 30 minutes!
