We’ve had some of the most fun and meaningful couple of days for our family recently. We didn’t do Thanksgiving with extended family this year, so we were completely on our own schedule. We had our good friend Dee over for Thanksgiving dinner, but other than that, nothing else going on. Knowing my affinity for Christmas, we ventured out before all the crowds and got our Christmas decorations yesterday.
The boys, particularly Malachi, is really really really into Christmas (a son after his mother’s heart!) I was making dinner last night and he came in wearing this:
He insisted that the tree skirt was Santa’s coat and wanted to wear a female Santa hat we had in our decoration pile. Oh the mind and imagination of a two year old! He also likes to put on my black Ugg boots as Santa’s boots and the Chef’s big gloves and Santa’s mittens.
The next day, they found these reindeer (or as Malachi says, “Raint Deers”) antlers. Malachi once again wanted to wear a Santa coat.
Lincoln of course had to wear them his own way.
It’s so fun to have children at an age where they are starting to understand traditions and get excited.
